The distinctly modern architecture of the casinos and hotels lining Batumi's shore looms over the old town near the port.

Adjarian Khachapuri is a specialty of Georgia. This is from Laguna restaurant in Batumi. It is a bread boat filled with cheese, butter, and egg. Delicious but on the heavy side.

The rocky beaches in Batumi have a large amount of sea glass if you take the time to look for it.

Fabrika in Tbilisi is a repurposed Soviet-era textile factory that now contains spaces for artists, restaurants, and an enormous hostel. Hopefully Fabrika will become a model for Tbilisi and other post-Soviet cities to put abandoned industrial buildings to good use instead of tearing them down. I recommend grabbing a bite to eat at Shio Ramen or Pipes Burgers and checking out the replica posters and other art for sale at the Black Dog Shop.
